Terms and Conditions of Hire

Will’s Trailer Hire Ltd
(“WTH”, “we”, “us”, “our”)
1. Identification & Security Checks
The hirer (“you”, “your”) must provide the following prior to hire:
A valid UK driving licence or passport
Valid insurance documentation for the towing vehicle
One current utility bill or official document confirming address
All documents must show the same address. Copies may be taken and retained solely for identity verification, security and fraud-prevention purposes, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
2. Payment & Deposit
Full payment for the hire period is required before collection of the trailer.
A refundable security deposit of £100 or £200, depending on the trailer hired, is payable at the time of booking or collection. Deposits will be refunded once the trailer is returned:
On time
Undamaged
Clean
With all supplied equipment
WTH reserves the right to deduct reasonable costs from the deposit where these conditions are not met.
3. Ownership of Trailer
All trailers remain the sole property of Will’s Trailer Hire Ltd at all times. The hirer obtains no right, title or interest in the trailer other than its use during the hire period.
4. Permitted Use
The trailer must not be:
Sub-hired or lent to any third party
Used for any illegal purpose
Used outside England, Wales or Scotland
Used by any vehicle or driver not declared and insured
The trailer must only be used in accordance with manufacturer specifications and legal requirements.
5. Risk & Responsibility
All risk passes to the hirer upon collection of the trailer and remains with the hirer until the trailer is returned and accepted by WTH.
The hirer is responsible for the trailer at all times, whether attached or detached from a vehicle.
6. Damage, Theft & Loss
The hirer is fully liable for:
Theft, loss or non-return of the trailer
Damage to the trailer or its components
Missing parts or accessories
If the trailer is stolen, lost, destroyed, confiscated or not recovered, the hirer agrees to pay the full replacement value of the trailer. Hire charges may continue to accrue until settlement is made.
All repairs must be carried out by an authorised manufacturer or approved repairer.
7. Tyres & Spare Wheel
A spare wheel is supplied where applicable. The hirer is responsible for the cost of repair or replacement of any tyres damaged during the hire period.
8. Insurance
The hirer must ensure that the towing vehicle insurance:
Permits towing of hired trailers
Covers theft, damage and third-party risks relating to the trailer
WTH does not provide insurance cover for the hirer’s use of the trailer.
9. Liability & Indemnity
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Subject to this, the hirer agrees to indemnify Will’s Trailer Hire Ltd against all claims, losses, damages or expenses arising from the use of the trailer during the hire period.
WTH shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses.
10. Condition, Inspection & Cleaning
The hirer must inspect the trailer on collection and confirm its condition.
The trailer must be returned in the same clean condition as supplied. A cleaning surcharge may be applied if the trailer is returned dirty internally or externally.
For long-term hires, the hirer must clean the trailer regularly using appropriate cleaning products only.
11. Hire Period & Late Return
Daily hire periods are 24 hours. Late returns may incur additional charges. Please notify WTH as soon as possible if a delay is anticipated.
12. Cancellations
If a booking is cancelled, WTH may retain part or all of the deposit to cover genuine administration costs and loss of hire. Any retained amount will be proportionate and reasonable.
13. Non-Return & Recovery
Failure to return the trailer may result in identification documentation being provided to the police or recovery agents. The hirer agrees to pay reasonable recovery, legal and court costs incurred by WTH.
14. Termination of Hire
WTH reserves the right to terminate the hire and request immediate return of the trailer if these terms are breached or if the trailer is being used in an unsafe or inappropriate manner.
15. Refusal of Hire
WTH reserves the right to refuse hire to any person or company without providing a reason.
16. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales
